Spotify Playlist Roundup

Spotify Playlist Roundup

I love music. It’s kind of a huge part of my life. I can’t remember the last time I went a day without listening to some kind of music. Because of this, I figured I could make a post and include my favorite Spotify playlists for you to listen to, and hopefully find something new to listen to!

1. My Top Songs of 2016

Time for some self promo here! This is a compilation of my top 101 songs from 2016, made by Spotify. Now, I may be biased, but I think its a pretty great playlist! It basically shows my taste in music throughout last year, and its pretty fun to listen to since most of the songs are upbeat.

2. Spotalike: The 1975 – Sex

First of all, Spotalike is amazing. You can type in any song that you like, and it will create a playlist with similar songs that you will probably love. I made this playlist because I love Sex by The 1975 (who doesn’t?), and it is probably my favorite playlist ever. This was basically the soundtrack for my freshman year of college. It is perfect for long car rides, or for when you just want to chill.

3. Hit Rewind

This is a playlist made by Spotify, and it’s so fun! Its pretty much a collection of songs from the past few years that you may have forgotten about. Highlights include “Like a G-6” by Far East Movement (I totally forgot that this was a song), “I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor Swift, and “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore (which still makes me laugh every time I hear it).

4. Atmospheric Calm

So this one is definitely for studying, but I still love it. Its calming, but still allows you to focus, and it is 7 hours long, so you’ll never run out of music to listen in during a study sesh (unless you have 8 hour study sessions, which would be kinda crazy). It makes me feel peaceful when listening to it, which is super helpful when I’m drowning in Western Civ homework.

5. Your Favorite Coffeehouse

This playlist makes me feel so cozy and calm. Coffeehouses are on my top five list of favorite places to be, so it makes sense. This one is great for chilling in the evening, background music for doing boring things (I always have it on when I’m cleaning), or for a calming car ride.

6. Spotify Sessions: The Hits

This is a beautiful collection of spotify sessions, and it is just amazing. I love listening to this when I need to calm down, or when I’m really tired. My faves from this playlist include “Sweater Weather” by The Neighborhood, “Hideaway” by Kiesza, Andy Grammer’s cover of “All Time Low,” and “Coming of Age” by Foster the People.

7. Lush Vibes

This is another one I like to listen to while I study. It’s really chill, and has fun and poppy beats that keep you interested without being distracted. They are mostly just instrumental, so its great for when you need to focus, or just need some non-intrusive background music.

8. Songs to Sing to in the Shower

Kind of a guilty pleasure playlist, but all fun and upbeat songs! I sing along to this one in the shower (obviously), in the car, and when I have to clean the house. It’s a fun little throwback, and gives you that energy boost you need in the shower to start off your day!

9. Harry Potter 1-7 Film Scores

Okay, so this one might not apply if you don’t like Harry Potter, but if you do, this is the playlist for you! This is another playlist I listen to while studying because the songs don’t have any words. The best time to do this is in the library at night, when its no longer crowded, and you can pretend you’re in Hogwarts studying for your Defense Against the Dark Arts class (if you couldn’t tell, I’m a huge Harry Potter nerd). But really, its great background music, and adds a hint of magic to your study sesh!

10. Dance Workout

One of my favorite gym playlists! It’s full of feel-good poppy music that will keep you going for your entire workout. As a bonus, its perfect for when you want to dance around your living room when you’re home alone!

So there are my favorite Spotify playlists! I hope you enjoy them, and let me know your faves in the comments!
